goodbye for now

This morning I counted about 12 bangaus that I saw. Macam hepi gitu nampak bangau2x nie. It means the rest 115 is scattered all over the island. Rasanye banyak kat Sungai Buloh.

I am saying good bye for now because I will be on long leave from work and from blogging. I will miss you all dearly and will be missing out on the daily rollercoasters.

I will be back Insha Allah on 1st Feb latest 2nd Feb 06.

My reports have been completed Alhamdulillah. Teringat WTL .. dah abis ke belum reports dia? And I've requested the help of my colleague to send out for me.

Besok ade training for staff. I'll be around 1/2 day then off to my dental appointment. Gigi berlobang! I think i've got the worst set of teeth. It's like I have poor dental habits. But that's quite the opposite. I carry toothbrush and toothpaste whereever I go. I brush 3-4 times a day. I floss occasionally just need to get started again on the flouride mouthwash.

My friends - do take care of yourselves, will miss you surely and dearly.

Signing off,

I_mshe

Little Egrets - Bangau Kecil

The Little Egret is the smallest and most common egret in Singapore. Singapore receives a good concentration of these migrants during the winter (September-May). In February, just before they leave for their summer breeding sites, some may start to put on their beautiful breeding plumes (right). Little Egrets eat a wide variety of prey from fish, molluscs and worms to insects and even small mammals and birds. Little Egrets are the liveliest hunters among herons and egrets, with a wide variety of techniques. They may patiently stalk prey in shallow waters. Or stand on one leg and stir the mud with the other to scare up prey. Or better yet, stand on one leg and wave the other bright yellow foot over the water surface to lure aquatic prey into range.

Why Egrets? I have been wanting to share about my fixation with the little egrets. According to Nature Society the last count in 2004 was 127of them. They are in fact an endangered species.

I have been noticing these bangau since last 2-3yrs. I am fond at looking at them everytime I take my morning journey to work. They add a sense of nature against the facade that surrounds me. And I would miss them if I don't see them.

I've been munching non-stop since after my morning meeting.

1. Mee goreng

2. 4 pieces of kueh jepun

3. 2 siew mai

4. kuaci

5. kacang

6. milo chocolates.

O.D *hic*

I O.D ( as my husband would call it) on cough syrup by accident. I overdosed. Instead of taking it with a spoon I gulped it down thru the bottle. Gatal. Now I'm as high and tak keharuan as a God Knows What.

My assistant said memang sah I O.D.ed. Cos I am merepek right now. *hic*

Oh yeah I learned one thing - toilet training can lead to performance anxiety. My Son has it. Long story but to make it short my doc say dont bother about toilet training maybe he's not ready. go with the flow.

Sure doc. Will do. *hic*

urgh

sebenarnya i have a lot of things to say and write. But at this point of time I can only simplify it as 'nak muntah'. This usually happens to me when I am overloaded with information. Today dipenuhi dengan meeting to review our programmes. Jadi bila dah abis meeting tu, macam nak muntah rasanyer. For me to do my presentation pun tak boleh sebab the process of 'purging' belum lagi start. Nie baru rasa mual je. Gawd!

At my office we have this yearly affair of colleagues yang sensitip, yang ambil hati. So this year is a ritual for us. So unhealthy. This year I plan to buat bodoh. See what happen ya. Nie lah base on that day punya citer of appraisal. The post effect is this.

I've been seeing alot of Mr Sun. It's pretty good. Even though I love the rain, I realised I love crisp-dried clothes :)

Today I feel like a boat. I don't know why. Must be what I am wearing today. Can't wait to go home. I've got 20 mins to go to 6pm.

Next week from Tuesday onwards I'm taking a long leave from work. so I am trying my crazy best to finish my work. My Biggest boss told me never mind come to work with my son. He said he don't mind. I MIND! Ku rasa macam nak debik je dia. Tapi I senyum and said no thanks.

I need inspiration, freedom, love and peace! I feel hippie now. Oh yeah I wanted to watch Le Grande Voyage - French film. Belum dapat kesempatan. And hearing so much of Memoirs of A Geisha I want to catch that too!

Sniffles

My whole body is so sore...... i think i've grown another neck. I barely have any voice. Tomorrow I think i will get myself another MC. Wow! I'm barely at work this new year! Umar is getting better. I'm the one getting worse. Since i'm sooo waay behind work I've brought home work. Hope to get something done while I'm at home.

My kitchen light went bonkers on me. We just bought new bulb coupla months back.

I hate towels that don't absord water. These towels i got at home they are too thick. and after awhile they stink. I need new towels.

I've been having personal dilemma with pillows. I have yet to find the perfect pillow for that good night sleep. I bought 2 kabu2x pillows. For now they have yet to satisfy me.

I need 2 pair of shoes - 1 for walking, the other for special occasions like Hari Raya. The problem is my size.

I was just told that I've been using some old moisturisers. No wonder I've got bumps on my face.

Oouch! every inch hurts now. I did korban this year. Alhamdulillah. This illness is Allah's way of sending His Mercy on me. Thank you Allah. It's been raining more than 72hrs. Reminds me of the sajak Hujan by who I can't remember. One of those veteran sasterawan. Mohamed Arif Mohamed?

back at work

I'm daze today at work. I have the flu. Me son is still not well. I'm suppose to have my unit's discussion on programme review later after lunch. Don't know whether I can function later. I can feel whole body aching. Just need to lie down and sleep. I've got tonnes of things to do. I've decided to bring home some work. This is soo unlike me!.

How's everyone. I feel soo backdated with work cos of the sickness. Can't wait for this to be over so that I can catch up with work.

Enig - forgot to tell you this.. when umar got the teddy bear the first thing he did was to kiss the bear on the nose. The bear is called T-bear. Umar gave it its name. I think its teddy bear tapi dia shortcut jadi T-bear. T-bear has been his company since he was sick. Kalau letak minyak panas kat T-bear dulu baru on Umar and such. And he would have conversation with T-bear.

really cute.

Lately

Lun - you thought i couldn't lie? I take that as a compliment :) thanks.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

During the long weekend and back at work I had encounters with a few people who are almost in the same situation as I am. People who wanted change in their life or on the verge of change.

After meeting with them, I was smiling inside me. I was glad to be there for them. I'm glad to be there at such important juncture in their life and able to push them for change. I told of them it's like I'm talking to me. You are my mirror. Whatever I tell it reflects back to me. And it's true. The encounters also sort of re-affirms what I do best.

After the KL trip and meeting with WTL, I was revitalised. I think I owed it to WTL for injecting some new energy in me. I didnt' know what or how (must be the constant shrieking over food!) but I have a new sense of energy. And what I did tell this people is to take care of yourself first. You deserve it. I came back home feeling more energized to re-start my life.

I had been toying with the idea of emailing the company. I've been staring at the business card for two days now. Just yesterday, another person asked me whether I was looking for a job. I realised one thing too - the best conversation happens in the toilet. And when I shared with her my story, I had this 'life' in me. She told me it's okay to email them. Afterall it's been more than a month. And right after this I will do it.

It was by chance that I rented two movies starring Jennifer Lopez. I'm not her fan. I simply love her complexion and skin. I watched Monster In law and Shall we dance.

You know, I've never thought that Jane Fonda could act. She did pretty okay in Monster in law.

I've also never thought of Richard Gere as sexy middle aged man. but in Shall we dance he proved to be the sexiest man going thru middle-marriage-life crisis. I find shall we dance endearing. It's the kinda movie that you need to pay attention to. I didnt' had the chance cos of me lovely son.

Speaking of son, I had to take urgent leave today. Umar had a horrible fever, almost 40c the other nite. And I had little sleep watching over him. Alhamdulillah he is better- just irritating cough and alittle runny nose to deal with now.

end of 05 begin 06

It had to happen. Funny things always happen to me at the end of the year. My TV broke down. It blew up on me just 1 day before end of the year. So i thought well we (the family) thought we could tolerate each other without tv. We tried for one nite realised that we need our electronic babysitter. The AhBeng gave excellant service. Although his english and malay couldn't be understood for one bit but Mr Ahbeng (whose name was John if i'm not mistaken) borrowed us a tv till he gets our tv fixed.. and that is Wednesday.

Yesterday since I was missing Enigma and WTL and BSC I made my own steak for lunch. With mushroom sauce complete with broccoli (I remembered Enigma said it was good for fighting cancer and stuffs like that), corn and wedges. It was extremely delicious (give me some credit!) that I had 2 servings!

I have this silly knack to continue the joke on people when they think i'm not local. Okay this is very jahat and I shouldn't do this. But I must confess

- I told my optometrist once that I had families in Iraq during the Gulf War

- when I got lost on the bus once I told somebody that I was from another country and don't know my way round

- just 2 nites ago, I was browsing around the meat section, this nice lady said Hi and said I've never seen you around. and I said OH it's my first time here (NOT!). She showed me where is the halal section and where is not. It was an intro to the supermarket 'halal' section for the new kid on the block.

This morning I broke 2 plates at one go. They jumped out of the dish rack onto the sink and on the floor. I was totally flabbergasted. Didn't know what happened at all.

The day has been beautiful thus far. It rained since morning and is still raining.
